Model Organisms
What are common model organisms?
Nematode Worm [Caenorhabditis elegans]
Nematodes are either male or hermaphrodite (meaning they have both male and female reproductive organs and can reproduce asexually) [4]. They are easily grown on bacteria, produce thousands of eggs a day, can be frozen and revived, and their development is so specific that each cell can be traced back from the embryo [4]. |
